Transfer Switches

Don’t let that ordinary exterior fool you. The transfer switch plays a pivotal role in making sure you’re never powerless again. When power goes out in your neighborhood, the transfer switch is what puts the “automatic” in your standby power system.

Power restored in 10 seconds?

Meet the KOHLER® Automatic Transfer Switch.

Even before the power goes out, your ATS monitors the electricity coming into your home. When the power goes out, the ATS recognizes the loss of utility power and signals the generator to start automatically.

Once your utility power returns, the ATS recognizes the restored power and automatically transfers power from the generator back to your utility power.

Your generator then shuts down automatically and goes on standby until your next power outage.

Standby Power Equals Peace of Mind

Sensing a loss of  utility power, the transfer switch starts the generator and switches over designated circuits to the generator. When utility power is restored the transfer switch returns circuits back to utility power and shuts down the generator automatically.

Because no two installations are the same, there are a variety of transfer switches available from Generator Power Systems. Our custom configuration of your system will include the appropriately sized transfer switch to meet the National Electric Code requirements.
